School of Post Basic Midwifery

This great institution is an immortalization of the effort of the Irish people through the devotedness of their sons, daughters and the early missionaries. The Hospital and two great schools; School of Nursing and School of Midwifery, built by these Irish children remain the pride of the church in Nigeria as well as in Europe/ America. It was founded in 1932.
Interestingly, early grandaunts were grade II midwives who learnt on the job and the school was first accredited in June 1956. However, the last accreditation was in June 2o2o. Prior to the last accreditation, the school has often produced the best student in Midwifery Council Examination and is among the best in the country with a 100% overall score in 2023 Council Exam. Professionally, the students are drilled by proven lecturers, provided with academic enabling environment, light and security to enhance proper assimilation of study materials, mental development, etc.
